Baule Brass and Bone Bead Earrings

These ornate design of the triangular brass beads are made by the Baule people of Ethiopia.  Each bead is handmade from wax and then cast with molten brass.  Because of this casting technique, no two are perfectly identical, and each is unique. The casting process used to produce these metal beads dates back to the 7th century in Africa.  Although the brass bead is raw and natural in composition and design, these earrings express natural character and style that’s balanced by the Batik bone accent.
